USS Indianapolis: Men of Courage (2016)

After delivering parts for the atomic bomb that would ravage Hiroshima, the USS Indianapolis is sunk by the Imperial Japanese Army in shark-infested waters.

Led by Captain Charles McVay (Cage), the crew fights for survival despite inconceivable odds.

Like Frozen Ground, the film is based on true events. Unlike Frozen Ground, however, it endured some pretty harsh criticisms from audiences and wasn’t as well-received.

History buffs will have a tough time ignoring historical inaccuracies, but diehard fans of Nicolas Cage movies will overlook misplaced torpedoes, equipment that didn’t exist in the 1940s, and other blunders.
